Alice Cooper is the King of Shock Rock. No question about it…no one else is even close. His stage presence is unmatched. He takes the stage like he owns it. He knows exactly who he is and plays it to the hilt. Alice Cooper 76 years old, and the kicker is, he just keeps getting better and better. I have seen him multiple times over the years.

My first Alice Cooper show was in 1989. I remember thinking that Alice had been around “forever” at that point. I loved the show and was something I had never seen before. If you would have told me then that he’d still be around and performing in 2024, and not only performing, but absolutely killing it- I may not have believed you. But yet, here we are. He literally just keeps getting better and better.

One way Mr. Cooper stays on top is his band. They are one of the best touring groups out there. The guitar trio of Nita Strauss, Ryan Roxie, and Tommy Henriksen perfectly complement each other with their playing styles and stage personas. Chuck Garric doesn’t just have the look and stage presence too, he’s also a great bass player. And drummer Glen Sobel is as solid as they get on the drums.

This band is fun to watch and play perfectly into Alice’s show. Each member carrying their own star power. But make no mistake, Alice is the leader of the group. Song after song- spanning decades- Alice brings a unique show to the stage. Throw in his wife Sheryl and daughter Calico who both play parts in the stage show, it is a great family business to be in for sure.

Alice Cooper has so many great songs. So many crowd favorites that the crowd sings back to him word for word. On this night favorites were No More Mr. Nice Guy, I’m Eighteen, Under My Wheels, Poison, Elected, and the ultimate crowd pleaser to end the set with School’s Out. I love Alice Cooper, and love watching him and his band. I hope he never retires. I’d say he was a once in a generation type of talent. The problem with that is he has lasted several generations throughout his career. I’ll say this, as long as he keeps playing, I will keep going. There is no one like Alice Cooper.
